Today Tithi is especially auspicious as we observe Vijaya Ekadashi 2026. Falling in the Krishna Paksha of the Phalguna month, this Ekadashi is the ultimate tool for overcoming life's most daunting challenges.
Significance of Vijaya Ekadashi
The word "Vijaya" translates to Victory. According to the Skanda Purana, anyone who observes this fast with full devotion is blessed with Success in their endeavors, whether spiritual or worldly. It is believed to wash away the most deep-seated sins and provide the mental strength to conquer adversaries.
(Hindi)
Vijaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha (English)
During his exile, when Lord Rama reached the shores of the ocean with his Vanara army, he was contemplating how to cross the vast waters to reach Lanka. Guided by Lakshmana, he sought the counsel of Sage Bakdalbhya.
The sage advised him to observe the Vijaya Ekadashi Vrat. He explained the rituals of installing a water-filled Kalash and worshipping Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama followed this guidance perfectly. The merit of this fast provided the divine energy needed to build the Ram Setu and eventually emerge victorious over the demon king Ravana.
